hey, if anyone reads this, I'm just going to start posting works I write here. small ones. not even stories, just whatever I feel like writing. I may or may not keep up with it. I probably won't, so don't get all excited.

She was methodical. She poured over her every move as if theconversation were an intricate game. Every response she found to be asubtle victory for herself, while she kept her distance and feignedmore personal involvement. With each question she revealed a littlemore about her contact, with each statement she lead him preciselywhere she wished to go. Years of dealing with men had taught her thesubtle intracasies of masculine thought, allowing her to understand alogic so often misunderstood by her female counterparts. She had foundthat most men were puppets, and could be steered in any direction thatan attractive woman may want them to move. Between diction, tone, andbody language, any man could be read. The words he would chose wouldalways fall in line with the image he wished to portray. Some menwould say things in a fashion to add to their primal machismo, whileothers would attempt to come off intelligent and sophisticated. Theywere nearly all facades, as an inherent feature ingrained in the genderis the ever-present fear of inadequacy. Few men were really sure ofthemselves, and those who comfortable with their realities seemed toalways be too stupid to realize it, or too arrogant to notice. Evenmany of the cockiest males feigned it, as they had found an air ofarrogance would often really allow them to appear supperior to theircounterparts, their rivals.

Even within deep and longlasting friendships, she had felt deep rootedcompetition, and because of it, Arienne understood the reasoning behindathletic competition, and ultimatly the essence of war.

She too felt the need to compete, and she reasoned that it was but anarchaic remainder of the millions of years before mankind reachedenlightened thought. Competition was instinctive, and it's logicalreasoning was but an obvious effect of evolution and adaptation. Thecompetition between women, however, always seemed more overt to her. Awoman was less likely to hide her dissent of other women, and betweenwomen, the sheer fact of the competition was all but verbally acknowledged.
